Provisional licence
Apply on GOV.UK from 15 years 9 months. It costs £34 online and you can start lessons at 17.

Theory test
Multiple choice and hazard perception, taken at a test centre. Revise alongside your first lessons.

Lessons
Weekly or intensive, manual or automatic. Most learners need somewhere between 30 and 50 hours.

Practical test
About 40 minutes with an examiner. We’ll tell you honestly when you’re ready to book it.
